From September 11 - 13, 2023, the Flatiron Institute's Center for Computational Astrophysics hosted a second
workshop on fast radio bursts (FRBs) - the previous one being in 2020. The workshop was kicked off with an introductory talk by ASTRON/JIVE/UvA's own Shivani Bhandari, who also presented her recent work using the
EVN. We also presented recent ASTRON/JIVE/UvA-led FRB results from
LOFAR (
also),
Nançay/Westerbork-RT1 (
also), and
GBT.
This picture is taken from the rooftop terrace of the institute, with the backside of the iconic Flatiron Building (just across the street), visible in the background. Many current ASTRON/JIVE/UvA employees and students (Shivani Bhandari, Jason Hessels, Akshatha Gopinath, Danté Hewitt, Ziggy Pleunis), as well as some recent ASTRON/JIVE/UvA alumni (Tarraneh Eftekhari, Kenzie Nimmo), are in the picture.
