LOFAR2.0 Team outing to .... LOFAR!

With COVID restrictions largely retracted we thought it would be great to have a field day with the LOFAR2.0 Team. And what better location for that than the LOFAR core...!? So, on March 24th, we put on our boots and went for a walk.

To learn about 'the other side' of LOFAR, we organized a tour with guides from "Drenths Landschap". They showed us and informed us about the enormous value that the LOFAR core area has for changing the local landscape into a preserved wetland nature area. In return, we taught them all about the technical properties of the LOFAR system.

The weather that day was absolutely fabulous, as can be seen in the pictures. It allowed for a very relaxed atmosphere with many people talking to each other again, and sharing LOFAR anecdotes, for the first time in months. We concluded our field trip at Restaurant Bussemaker in Exloo, where we enjoyed some drinks and snacks.

It was awesome to get together like this again, and it made us realize how much we missed such opportunities over the last two long years. Now, all we have to do is finish the LOFAR2.0 development and roll it out. And we are ready for it!
