To mark the end of the computing group, we had a get-together in the start of September, which was also the first time we met as a group in real life since March. This was slightly inspired by the corresponding daily image of the former DESP group.
I looked for some written history of the Computing group, but could not find it. The first mention of the Computing group was in the yearly report of 2007, but it must have existed years before. The group leaders were Kjeld van der Schaaf, Ronald Nijboer, and in the last year Walter Jansen. Some highlights that the the computing group contributed to in the former R&D structure period were the BlueGuene and COBALT correlators and various calibration and imaging programs.
