FRB 191108 was discovered by the Apertif Radio Transient System (ARTS) with a Faraday Rotation Measure (RM) of nearly 500 rad m**-2. Its sightline comes within just 18 kpc of Local Group Galaxy M33, which means the burst travelled through the circumgalactic medium of both M33, and the much larger M31 (Andromeda). The FRB was temporally unresolved, indicating that its intrinsic width was less than 80 microseconds.
