Gala van de Sterrenkunde

On 17 December, a half dozen astronomers from JIVE and ASTRON put on their dresses and suits for the Gala van de Sterrenkunde 2019. At the Stadsgehoorzaal in Leiden this Gala celebrated astronomy and science in general; and 20 years of NOVA plus 100 years of IAU in particular. Notable guests included Cees de Jager. The King came, too. The program was a mix of talks, movies, music, talk shows, art, outreach, and quizzes -- including turning an "Astronomical Instrumentation Wheel of Fortune" as included among the pictures.
