This image is a false colour image of the Pacman Nebula.

In a previous AJDI https://www.astron.nl/dailyimage/main.php?date=20191104 the nebula was shown as recorded in H-Alpha light only.

But the new CCD-camera also has filters for two other spectral lines, SII and OIII.

Images acquired using these filters were combined in a false colour image.

Red was substituted with the (deep red) SII image, this filter at 675nm wavelength has 8nm bandwidth, 2 x 1200s integration time.

Green was substituted with the (also deep red) H-Alpha image, this filter at 656nm has 7nm bandwidth, 6 x 1200s integration time.

And finally Blue was substituted with the (green) OIII image, this filter at 501nm has 7nm bandwidth, 2 x 1200s integration time.

This representation is known as the SHO or Hubble palette, it is pleasing to the eye and enhances details.
