It is great to see how students develop products and instruments.

Students do have the future (let’s support them to have a good one)

Elfi Dijkstra graduated last week at the LIS (Leidse Instrumentmakers School).

She started as MBO student at ‘fijnmechanische techniek’ in Stadskanaal, as intern at ASTRON she found out about LIS opportunities, few years to Leiden/LIS, internship at SRON (Utrecht), NIKHEF (A’dam) and back at the base (NOVA, ASTRON) for the final teases of a very challenging assignment to develop, produce and test an assembly tool for the so called WEAVE LIFU head.

With support from different departments in Dwingeloo and professors in Groningen, she finished the LIFU head assembly tool and graduated very successful.

Please stay another month to support the WEAVE project as a real Instrumentmaker and

fly out for a year at CERN in Switzerland. See you next year!?
